From the earliest age I have always loved to draw, if I wasn’t playing football I would be drawing. I'd happily spend hours on end losing myself in what I was doing, whether it was drawing a car, an animal or a house I wouldn’t stop until it was the best version of it that I could do even if that meant tearing it up and starting again sometimes. I took this love of drawing forward into school but for reasons I still can't fully remember I decided to drop art at school when I was 14 and that was that for many years until I decided that I wanted to start drawing and painting again. Since then I have always painted (mainly in oils and acrylics).
I particularly love to paint things that I find beauty in which are mainly landscapes and animals. I have painted a lot of landscapes of places I know, or have visited and found a connection with. Though I live in London a lot of the places I paint are in Ireland which is where the majority of my family are and where I have spent a lot of time.
I am lucky to have a lovely cavapoo dog and cat who have been happy (I assume) to pose as subjects for me to paint. I do also enjoy doing contemporary-style paintings that convey thoughts, emotions and feelings; I find these kinds of painting very cathartic to do.
